Your reviews live on Etsy's site, not yours
Every review a buyer leaves on Etsy stays on Etsy. Switch platforms, open your own shop, get hit with a bogus suspension, and it is gone. A review page at your own address survives all of that. A buyer who found you on Etsy can still pull it up after the shop is dead.
When to ask
A week after delivery, when the buyer sends a picture of the thing sitting in their house.
Send the link then, not in a follow-up a month later. A review is written in the mood the buyer is in when they get the link, and that is the mood you want on the page.
What to ask
The form has one box, and what goes in it depends on what you asked. These get an answer a stranger can use. “Great seller” does not.
- What did you order, and who was it for?
- How did it show up?
- What would you tell somebody on the fence about ordering the same thing?
What lands on your page
An example, written to show the shape. The name, the tags and the verified mark come from the reviewer and the link they used, and nothing shows until you approve it.

Ordered the ceramic planter for my mom's birthday. Showed up wrapped like an actual gift, a week early, and she had a fern in it by that afternoon.
Worth knowing
Use a verified link here. Send one with the shipping notice, and the review that comes back carries a mark that proves the person actually bought from you. Etsy cannot tell a real buyer from a random opinion. You can.
