TheyRave
Terms of service
Last updated 6 September 2026
These are the rules for using TheyRave. They are written in plain words on purpose. Read the privacy page with them, since it says what we keep about you and why.
1Who this agreement is between
TheyRave is run by one person in Illinois, USA. In these terms that person is “we” and “us”. “You” is anybody who uses the site: a creator with an account, a person leaving a review, or a visitor reading one.
By making an account, leaving a review, or reading a page on theyrave.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
2What the site does
A creator collects reviews from people who bought from them and shows those reviews on a public page at theyrave.com under a name they choose. They can also show the same reviews on their own website through the embed widget. Reviews arrive unseen and nothing is shown to the public until the creator approves it.
We are not a marketplace. We do not sell anything on a creator’s behalf, hold money for them, or take part in any deal between a creator and the person who bought from them. A review is one person’s account of what happened and we do not check whether it is true.
3Accounts
You must be 18 or older to make an account. Keep your password to yourself. What happens under your account is your responsibility, and if you think somebody else has got in, change your password or email us at once.
You choose the address of your page. A name that impersonates a person, a company or a public body, or that is used to mislead, can be taken back by us. A name you give up stays parked so that your old links keep working, and it can never be handed to anybody else. Choose carefully, since changing it does not free the old one.
4Leaving a review
A review must be your own honest account of a real dealing with the creator. Do not leave a review for something you did not buy or receive, do not leave one on somebody else’s behalf, and do not leave one to settle a score that has nothing to do with the deal.
By sending a review you give the creator and us permission to store it and show it on the creator’s page, on their embed widget, and in the spreadsheet they can download, for as long as the review stands. You keep every other right in what you wrote.
A review that came through a one time link the creator handed to a buyer carries a verified mark. The mark means the link was used. It does not mean we checked the review.
To take a review down, ask the creator first, since they can hide or delete it from their dashboard. If that fails, email us at hello@theyrave.com and say which page it is on.
5What a creator may not do
Do not write reviews of yourself, pay for reviews, or ask for reviews from people who never bought from you. Do not change the words of a review: the app does not let you, and the reply box under each one is the place for your side. Do not hand out verified links to anybody who was not a buyer.
Do not use the site to collect reviews for anything that is illegal to sell where you or the buyer live. Do not use it to harass, threaten or expose anybody, and do not post anything you do not have the right to post.
6Using the site
Do not try to break in, overload the site, scrape pages in bulk, or interfere with how it runs for anybody else. The review form on each page refuses more than a handful of reviews an hour, and the sign-in form pauses after repeated wrong passwords. Those are deliberate.
We can remove any content and close any account that breaks these terms. Where we can, we will tell you what the problem was.
7The Supporter plan
Supporter costs three US dollars a month and adds the features listed on the pricing page. Payment goes through Stripe, which handles your card and sends your receipts. We never see your card number.
The plan renews every month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Billing and receipts on your account settings. When you cancel you keep Supporter until the end of the month you have paid for, and nothing is charged after that. We do not refund part of a month.
When the paid time ends, nothing is deleted. A pinned review unpins, a Google font falls back to the face you had before, and pages beyond your first go unpublished until you come back.
If the price ever changes, we will email every Supporter at least 30 days before the new price applies, and you can cancel before it does.
8The line at the foot of every page
Every public page and every embed carries a line saying the reviews were collected with TheyRave. It is on the free plan and on Supporter, and there is no setting to remove it.
9Your content and ours
What you write is yours. You give us permission to store it, show it where you have asked for it to be shown, and copy it as needed to run the site, and no more. We do not sell your content or use it to train anything.
The TheyRave name, the site’s design and its code are ours. You may not use the name to suggest we endorse you.
10Closing an account
You can stop at any time. Email hello@theyrave.com from the address on your account and we will delete it, with every page, review, link and setting on it. Names you used stay parked so nobody can take them over, and a reviewer’s words are gone with the page they were on.
If you are a Supporter, cancel the plan first so Stripe stops billing you. Deleting the account does not cancel a subscription on its own.
11What we do not promise
The site is provided as it is. It is run by one person, it may go down, and a fault may lose something despite our care. We do not promise it will always be available, always be free of faults, or suit a purpose you have in mind.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from the site is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or ten US dollars if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law says cannot be limited.
12Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The date at the top is the date of the current version. For a change that matters to creators, we will email every account at least 14 days before it takes effect. Using the site after that date means you accept the new terms.
13Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois and the federal laws of the United States. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts sitting in Illinois, and you agree to those courts. If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still stands.
Questions about either page go to hello@theyrave.com. A person reads that inbox.
