Instagram likes do not say how the healing went
Someone picking a tattoo artist for something permanent wants more than a nice portfolio shot taken the day of. They want to know the consult was taken seriously, the session itself did not feel rushed, and the healed result still looks as good weeks later as the fresh photo did. Nobody posts a healed photo three weeks later. A review can say exactly that.
When to ask
A few weeks after the session, once the piece has actually healed.
Send the link then, not in a follow-up a month later. A review is written in the mood the buyer is in when they get the link, and that is the mood you want on the page.
What to ask
The form has one box, and what goes in it depends on what you asked. These get an answer a stranger can use. “Great seller” does not.
- What did you get done, and was it your first time with this artist?
- How did the session itself go?
- How does it look now that it is healed?
What lands on your page
An example, written to show the shape. The name, the tags and the verified mark come from the reviewer and the link they used, and nothing shows until you approve it.
Example
First tattoo and they walked me through every step before touching the machine. Healed cleaner than I expected and still looks sharp four months later.
Worth knowing
Ask a few weeks out rather than right after the session. A fresh tattoo always looks great. A healed one is the real answer.
