Go live

Put a goal bar, a countdown and a prize wheel on your stream, and run it from your phone.

The Go live room in Backstage makes overlays: pictures that sit on top of your stream video, such as a goal bar. You change them from the room and they change on stream a few seconds later.

Before you start: Go live needs Supporter.

Goal bar

  1. In Backstage, open Go live, then Goal bar.
  2. Press Set up and type Tonight's goal.
  3. Use the buttons to add to the count as you go. Reset to 0 starts it over.
  4. Press to hide takes the bar off stream. Press to show brings it back.

Countdown and wheel

Countdown shows a timer before you start, such as Starting soon. Wheel is a prize wheel with slices you name. Add at least two slices, then press Spin the wheel. A heavier slice is more likely to win.

Add them to OBS

OBS is a free program many streamers use to send their video out. A browser source is an OBS layer that shows a web page.

  1. Next to the overlay, press Copy to copy its address.
  2. In OBS, press + under Sources and pick Browser.
  3. Paste the address as the URL. Set the width to 800. Set the height to 160 for the goal bar, 300 for the countdown and 800 for the wheel.
  4. Drag it where you want it on your scene.

Keep these addresses private. Anybody holding one can see that overlay. If one was shown on stream, make a new one and paste that in. The old one stops at once.

Add them to TRBS

If you stream with TheyRave Broadcasting Studio, press Copy address for TRBS and paste it into TRBS.

The phone remote

Your phone can run TRBS while you stream from your PC.

  1. In TRBS on your PC, press Connect a phone. It shows a six digit code.
  2. On your phone, open Go live in Backstage and type the code in Code from TRBS. Press Connect.
  3. The Studio tab has Start stream and End stream. The Sound tab lets you mute and unmute from the phone.

If something goes wrong

  • The overlay is blank in OBS. Check you pasted the whole address, then right-click the source and refresh it.
  • "Could not reach TRBS." Check TRBS is open on your PC and both are online, then connect again with a fresh code.
